The ATC is holding auditions for the 2026 edition of Studio Nights, featuring two one-act plays:

Picture
Together
by American playwright Willie Fitzgerald
directed by Jace Jasper
&

Bench
by 2025-26 ATC playwriting competition winner Matthew Snoding

directed by Maja Lay

Performances will take place June 16-20, 2026 at the Warehouse Studio Theatre.
Actors will be required to attend three rehearsals per week on weekday evenings and on weekends from the end of April.
All actors must be available from June 14 to 20 for the tech rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and five performance nights.

This production will give actors the opportunity to showcase their versatility across both dramatic and comedic moments while exploring complex, deeply human themes. Ages listed below are those indicated in the script, but the directors are open to casting in a wider age range as long as there is cast cohesion in line with the needs of the script.

Together is a contemporary dramedy about love, communication, and the messy work of maintaining relationships. Lucas and Patty, a long-term couple in their 30s, have their relationship tested by old feelings, secrets, and the presence of Lucas’ best friend Ines and Patty's artist friend Star.
Characters:
  • Lucas — mid-30s, a copywriter out of work
  • Patty — mid-30s, an editorial director at a fashion company
  • Ines — mid-30s, a stoner working in the service industry
  • Star — 20s - 30s, a painter
  • Phyllis — 50s - 60s, a landlord
The director is open to actors of any gender for these roles.

NB: There is some physical intimacy (kissing) between some characters. We will work with an intimacy coordinator to ensure everyone is comfortable throughout the entire process.

Bench is a two-person dramedy set on a park bench, where two strangers discover how a simple act of listening can change the way someone feels about their life.
Characters:
  • Claire — a woman in her early 30s
  • Emma — a younger woman

Auditions will take place

Saturday, 18 April, 1:30–3:30 PM
Monday, 20 April, 7–9 PM

Callbacks (if necessary) will be on Wednesday, 22 April, 7:30-9:30 PM

Please confirm your audition date in advance by emailing Maja Lay at [email protected].
